Responsible conduct of research course
During the spring semester of 2011, the PI and, Eric Mintz, the Kent State Biology Department Graduate Coordinator, are teaching a responsible conduct of research course. IGERT trainees and other students are participating in this course with students from Miami University joining in via computer. The course covers topics including: plagiarism, peer review of manuscripts and proposals, data ownership, data falsification, and mentorship. Teams of students were constructed that were cross disciplinary; teams discuss case studies and developed their own case studies to present to the class.
