Achievement

A key education component of our IGERT program is the support and mentoring between cohorts. In particular the previous cohort provides support and mentoring for the current cohort. This year this relationship again worked exceptionally well. The current cohort at one point was stuck on a circuit problem. Previous cohort members coached them through circuit design and testing including a soldering lesson. This interaction appears to work well in both directions as an excerpt from the evaluators report suggests: "I found the mentoring experience to be extremely beneficial to me.. having the opportunity to mentor reinforces and strengthens concepts that we learned in our courses and from prior coursework"
